Anguilla is a small island in the Northern part of the Caribbean island chain, about 20 minutes by boat North of St. Martin and not far from Puerto Rico.
It is a flat island of coral stone with a tropical climate, fine beaches, reefs and turquoise seas.
Production teams love its spectacular long white beach stretches with powder white sand - ideal for beach and swim fashion shootings. Apart from the main island of Anguilla itself, the territory includes a number of other tiny deserted islands and cays. There are no palm or coconut tree lined beaches.
Anguilla’s economy is focused on high end visitors.
It has a few luxury resorts, mostly in a modern white pure architectural style, but the rest of the island is still very local Caribbean and not very much developed. It therefor offers some very interesting typical Caribbean locations like dust roads and chattel houses.
Nevertheless it is an expensive place.
It has a small airport where mostly small planes from Sint Maarten bring travelers from the international airport to the island. It is also possible to access by regular ferry, private boat or helicopter.
For shootings in Anguilla - equipment and crew for international film and photo productions are brought in from the bigger Caribbean islands or international production teams bring all film, photo equipment, crew, etc. along.
Customs regulations for temporary imports are strict and applications have to be handed in well ahead of arrival time. The government charges for shoot permits on beaches, streets and landscapes.
We produced MACY”s fashion shootings and part of the Chinese video production PROVIDENCE BAY in Anguilla.
